Business Development Director

Joined us in 2000, based in Brazil

What makes you, you?

I’m a big fan of extreme sports including jiu-jitsu and surfing. Colleagues are used to seeing me with injuries like broken fingers!

What’s the best thing about working here?

The company’s values are in total synergy with mine, so I can be myself. And teamwork comes first – despite all the cultural differences, I worked really well with different teams across Latin America and Asia.

What are your highlights?

I joined as a finance intern. Since my internship ended in 2001, I‘ve had five promotions from financial analyst to finance director of Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia. A big achievement for a 24-year-old who had never left Brazil and hated maths at school! Then I moved to Philadelphia in an international finance role. After being away from my home country for four years, I decided to move back to Brazil into a commercial role. I’m now responsible for business development and strategy, and it’s a great chance to use my finance skills and enhance my commercial expertise.

How have we supported your development?

I’ve always been able to expand my capabilities. When I was finance director, at just 24, with a number of people reporting to me, I felt that my leadership skills needed improving. A leadership course soon followed.

What would you say to someone thinking of joining us?

If you work hard to deliver, and are open to new challenges, anything is possible.
