Maggie's is a charity providing free cancer support and information in centres across the UK and online. The advice and support they provide is very broad, including guidance on financial and legal issues, mental health, how to deal with the physical effects of cancer, and support for family and friends.
Many of their staff are NHS-trained and all their Cancer Support Specialists have expert knowledge about cancer and treatment. One of their key roles is to help tailor a programme of support to suit the needs of an individual and their families. Their centres also have psychologists and benefits advisors who are available for anyone with cancer and those close to them. They also work with experts who provide exercise groups, yoga, nutrition advice and much more.
We have a new 3 year partnership working together with Maggie’s to provide vital support to thousands of people with cancer by funding two Cancer Support Specialists at Maggie’s West London (Charing Cross Hospital) and Maggie’s Dundee (Ninewells Hospital).
Maggie’s is here for anyone with cancer, including families particularly during these uncertain times. For anyone with or worried about cancer, you can visit their website for information and support and register to join their online community, you’ll find lots of useful information, share experiences and if you have any difficulties, the team will be there to help you.
